From Executive Producers, John Ainsworth and Shawn Ryan and The Young Actors’ Theatre Camp comes “Drifting”, a short film created entirely at the world famous theatre camp. Shortly after it’s creation at the Annual Winter Film Camp in 2016, the film was submitted to The American Pavilion at the Cannes Film Festival and was put into competition for BEST STUDENT SHORT FILM. Several members of the cast and crew traveled to Cannes, France to attend the festival and made a short documentary for the film’s fans.
“Drifting” follows Jenny, a young woman who has decided that she must get rid of her pet fish at show and tell in order to save him from the messy divorce her parents are going through. A touching story dealing with children becoming adults in the blink of an eye. If you love something, set if free. The films stars Naomi Grossman (American Horror Story,) Kelton Jones (Dry Blood), Brad Griffith (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Hope Raymond (Sleep Away) and introduces us to the talents of several new comers from the Young Actors’ Theatre Camp including: Alexia Herrmann, Ava Vukic, GraceAnn Lesser, Callie McCarthy, Ivanna Lagur, Hope Collins, Zaia Bachrach, Eden Samuel, Morgan Rotenberry, Sophia Sullivan, Chloe Sullivan, and Olivia Ingram. The film was written by Shawn Ryan and co directed by Ryan and Olivia Ingram, who received her first nomination for best direction with this film.
