MANDY GONZALEZ in Master Class with CampYATC
Join us for an unforgettable Master Class with Hamilton Star Mandy Gonzalez. You best know Mandy from
the original company of Broadway’s In the Heights and now she’s back on the great white way in a little known
musical called Hamilton. Her connection to a lyric is unparalleled and she’s coming to YATC to teach us just that.
6 Students will be pre selected (by audition) to perform on stage with Mandy. This class is limited to 120 students
and if last year’s Hamilton Master Class with Rory O’Malley is any indication, this workshop will sell out almost immediately.
Exact class location will be announced March 12th for privacy reasons. It will be in the Union Square area of San Francisco.
Special Guest JEREMY JORDAN (Supergirl, Smash, and Newsies) will also attend the March 17th Workshop for a Very Special Master Class!
Class Time: 10am-4pm
(If you audition and are chosen for a performing spot, an additional $200 fee will apply. Audition information will be sent out to the registration list only on February 15th.)
APRIL 14th Workshop “The Biz of Showbiz w/ Shawn Ryan and Casting Director, Geralyn Flood”
The Cartwright Hotel Conference Room in San Francisco’s Union Square
THE BUSINESS of SHOW BUSINESS with Shawn Ryan and Geralyn Flood
Our most popular and requested Master Class of the Season. Do you want to know what’s next for your talented teen? How do you nurture
a 9 year old who has the theatre bug and wants to be on the Disney Channel someday? What would getting an agent even look like to your
schedule? Do we have to live in LA to pursue this dream for my child? What should a great headshot look like? Is his resume too full? Not
full enough? Can we take a break from all this if we want to?
It can be overwhelming when we don’t have all the information. This workshop is designed to do just that. This is a Parent and Camper Workshop
where the class is guided by Shawn Ryan, Director/Actor in Los Angeles and Casting Director, Geralyn Flood (Big Time Rush). This class is limited to 30 Families
and the ticket price included one parent and one student. (Please leave little brother or sister with a sitter that day)
We’re looking forward to answering all your questions and giving you some important information on how to help your young camper become the great artist they are destined to be.
Class Time: 10am-4pm

About the Teachers
Shawn Ryan can currently be seen on ABC Family’s “Famous in Love” opposite Bella Thorne and is Co-Founding Director of the Young Actors’ Theatre Camp. He realized one day that it was his passion and obligation to inform young artists and their families that there are amazing ways to get into show business by using the “path least taken” and a little creative ingenuity. Shawn has had numerous roles on TV shows such as “Bones”, “The Mentalist” and produced his own one man Cabaret shows for the past 18 years, which eventually led him to TV specials such as “One Night Stand Up” and “America’s Got Talent” as a semi-finalist. His films include “Charlie”, an Award Winning Short Film which played at the Cannes Film Festival that was self created by Shawn and his partner, John Ainsworth. Other Films include: “Sleep Away” and “Randy”, also self creation projects that continue to win awards and wonderful reviews. He hopes to inspire you and open your eyes to a life in the creative arts.
John Ainsworth’s credits take him from Actor to Producer to Writer to Camp Director and back again. Having produced over 100 short films, John’s latest endeavors are the Feature Films “Lazy Eye” and “Sleep Away”, which was produced over 3 weeks at The Young Actors’ Theatre Camp. As an Actor John has appeared in “Glee”, “American Horror Story”, “Justified”, “Grey’s Anatomy”, and many more! John’s simple and effective auditioning skills make him one of the most sought after Actors in Hollywood. He looks forward to working one on one with the campers monologues and helping them to understand what it takes to book the job!
